Most of the magical mystery tours we go on, happen within the random memories our unsuspecting mind decides to take me on.
In our favourite Chair, underneath our hair, our random memories take us any and everywhere ...
Magical Mystery Tour Mind (Random Memories)
I go on a Magical Mystery Tour
at least twice a week and often much more
I do not need aeroplanes, buses or trains
I only need my favourite chair and my brain
I only need peace, to relax, close my eyes
breathe in and breathe out, to get lost between sighs
Behind my closed eyelids a magical screen
it flashes and glitches with random streamed scenes …
My mum hoovering stairs and me pulling out plugs
My dad and me Big Daddy wrestling on rugs
My Sis turning forward the hand of a clock
Guy Fawkes in a nightmare I never forgot
Where old friends and new friends appear side by side
Where old years and new years exist in one time
Then fragments of memories flash faster, entwine
That kiss by the bins, those Thorpe Cloud happy climbs
The disco-light box room, those video nights
The Grifter, the Racer, the tennis ball tights
The last time I saw you, the first time we sledged
A doll in a cherry tree, hopping a hedge
Great Yarmouth, The Town House, wild kids on the Rhine
The Beautiful Ones and the Wichita Line
Glyn’s loft, The Outsiders, the rec, Windsor Park
Off-ground on a bench, Rocester roads in the dark
That secret, that wish, that promise, those sighs …
exhale from my mouth, wake my ears, open eyes
The clock tells me only mere minutes have passed
How seconds of time can be fleeting and vast
Take magical mystery tours in your mind
who knows where you’ll go and what memories you’ll find
