Write A Line: inspiration for writing a poem. Look, listen, smell, taste, feel ... inspiration is everywhere.
Write A Line
A funny cloud, a secret’s shroud
A wave, a want, a wink
A dying fly, a needle’s eye
The time it takes to blink
A baby’s smell, a day from hell
A friend, a foe, a find
A life unfair, a love unshared
The meeting of the minds
A lightning fork, a dream that’s corked
A splint, a spec, a sigh
A mother’s hug, a father’s shrug
The who, the where, the why
A wish that wakes, a vow that aches
A star, a sun, a sign
A life of thought, a truth that’s caught
The will to write a line

Inspiration for writing a poem often lies in things we take for granted: the simple things, the everyday and even the mundane. Conversely, sometimes the inspiration for writing a poem lies in feelings deep inside you - unique feelings and thoughts, longing to be turned into words and lines on page.
